In order to facilitate the teaching astronomy at school it is necessary to give teachers a good background in astronomy and the opportunity to make hands-on observations. Every school in the world has an astronomy lab: the schoolyard. Teachers can be trained to use it as an observatory.
The NASE programme group (PG) organises 2 – 3 astronomy schools for primary and secondary school teachers in different regions of the globe.

After each school, a group of participants get together to reproduce the training received in their region or country, with the support of the NASE PG.
The educational resources and course materials will be produced in several languages. Resources are already available in English and Spanish. Translations into Arabic, Portuguese and French are planned.
